Amy joined Ayres in May 2022 but has been a client her whole life. She is extremely passionate about continuing Ayres legacy in providing excellent care and service to all pets and clients. She has always loved her pets and has had animals her whole life; from going to Crufts every year, to attending training and agility classes with her dogs.
In her spare time you can find her outdoors at the beach, the regions children parks or venturing in the woods with her ‘mum hat’ on.

Kirstie West
Head Receptionist
Kirstie started working at Ayres Veterinary Hospital in July 2013. She loves working with animals, and at home has two dogs: a Jack Russell Terrier called Koby and a Dachshund called Laika. Kirstie enjoys helping clients and their pets, especially when she gets to meet new puppies! Outside of work she enjoys a lot of physical activities such as going to the gym, walking with her dogs and socialising with her friends and family.


Joy Cook
Receptionist
Joy has worked on reception at our Whitley Bay branch since 2001. She takes great pride in the branch surgery, building strong relationships with our clients and is very proud to be part of the Ayres team. Joy runs our popular puppy parties and has been a member of the association of pet dog trainers since 1996 - so we can be confident that the advice she gives to Ayres clients for their puppies is the very best. She has four dogs of her own and competes, manages and judges at bloodhound trials.


Doreen Denyer
Receptionist
Doreen has worked for Ayres since 1994. She is enjoying her semi-retirement but is totally committed to the smooth running of reception and her love of animals makes her want to carry on working. Doreen enjoys her frequents visits to Portugal and to Cliff Richard’s winery.


Penny Hall
Receptionist
Penny has run our Cleadon consulting rooms since 1999 and is a loyal member of our team. She has a fantastic rapport with Cleadon clients, so much so that they like to pop in to see her for a quick chat! Penny’s home life is busy too. She loves to walk with her husband and enjoys going to Michael Bublé concerts. Penny is also the administrator of our Healthy Pet Club, making sure our clients receive the best possible service.


Sophie Miller

Sophie has just started working in the practice in June 2022. She loves to see both happy animals and happy people, which makes her perfect for this role!
In her spare time she loves to engage with music, be it through festivals, gigs, or playing music of her own on her piano and guitar.

Sheri Sutton
Receptionist
Sheri joined Ayres Veterinary Hospital in August 2021. She loves working at the practice surrounded by animals and has two dogs of her own at home: Alfie, a pomerianxchihuahua and Bobby, a shitzhu as well as a cat called Belle.
Outside of work Sheri enjoys walks with her dogs and socialising with family and friends.

Katherine Wears
Receptionist and Administrator
Katherine joined us January 2015 as a receptionist and administrator after being a client of ours for 25 years.
She has acquired two rabbits since working at Ayres called Ichabord and Marble. She also has two dogs called Reuben and Ginny who keep her fit on long country walks.

Joanne Whale
Receptionist
Joanne joined Ayres as a receptionist in December 2009 and works part-time at our Whitley Bay branch. She grew up on a farm with cattle, sheep, goats, free range chickens, geese, ducks, dogs and cats, and has always enjoyed being around animals. Joanne now lives in Whitley Bay with her husband, two children, some cold water fish and a liver and white Springer Spaniel named Heidi.


Judith Whitelaw

Judith started working at the practice in June 2022 and has kept a big smile on her face ever since.
In her spare time she loves to walk her two little friends Chester and Willow along the beach. If she’s not walking her dogs along the sand then she can be found scuba diving!

Gemma Lambert
Receptionist
Gemma is a new addition to the team. She is a doggy-loving Yorkshire lass who tries to fill as much of her time around dogs as possible. Gemma joins the animal care industry to pursue her passion and admiration for helping the nation's pets.
Gemma is also a part time dog walker who, In her spare time can be found hiking the Northumberland countryside with her lovely Staffy, Jenny and their furry friends. You might also catch her at the Whitley Bay ticket office, singing some Fleetwood Mac at their open mic night!


Molly Stockwell-Allen

Molly is originally from Yorkshire and spent her entire childhood surrounded by animals including cats, dogs, ducks, chickens and many more creatures. Growing up in a rural farm area she’s spent most of her time getting lost in big green fields spending time with loved ones in nature. Now she can still be found with a pair of bright red wellies ankle deep in mud somewhere across the valley of her hometown when she’s not exploring the beaches of the north east with friends.
