Karen Armstrong

Practice Manager

Although the role is relatively new to Karen, moving from receptionist to practice administrator and most recently to practice manager in April 2015, she has worked at Ayres since 2002. Karen loves spending time with her daughter and husband, and Prudence her Cavalier King Charles.


Joy Cook

Receptionist

Joy has worked on reception at our Whitley Bay Branch since 2001. She takes great pride in her branch surgery, building great relationships with our clients and is very proud to be part of the Ayres team.

Joy runs our popular puppy parties and has been a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers since 1996, so we can be confident that the advice she gives to Ayres clients for their puppies is the very best. She has four dogs of her own and competes, manages and judges at bloodhound trials.


Stella Cook

Receptionist

Stella is our newest member of staff; however not new to Ayres. Her  family have been clients for 20 years with there Blood hounds, Border collies and British Bulldog – a full house at the Cook house.

She also has a huge talent for painting especially portraits of the family pets.


Doreen Denyer

Receptionist

Doreen has worked for Ayres since 1994. She is enjoying her semi-retirement but is totally committed to the smooth running of reception and her love of cats makes her want to carry on working. Doreen enjoys her frequents visits to Portugal and Cliff Richard’s winery.


Penny Hall

Receptionist

Penny has run our Cleadon consulting rooms since 1999. Penny is a loyal member of our team. She also is the administrator of our Healthy Pet Club making sure our client get the best possible service from our club. Penny has a fantastic rapport with Cleadon clients. They like to pop in to see her for a quick chat. Penny’s home life is busy too. She loves to walk with her husband and going to Michael Bublé concerts.


Mary Jones

Receptionist

Mary has been at our consulting rooms in Cramlington since 1993. Mary has the task of organising the veterinary surgeon’s rota, alongside the normal duties of a branch receptionist; a huge and complicated task to do. Mary has just decided to semi retire to part time. It was a difficult to replace Mary but we had the ideal person for her job share with.


Katy Moyes

Receptionist

Katy is new to Ayers. She started working with us at the beginning on June. Katy has completed all her training. She is very conscientious in her role; she is proving to be an excellent receptionist. Outside work she is involved with dog walking. She also enjoys yoga, cycling and adventure.


Helen Smith

Receptionist

Helen joined the Ayres team the team in July 2016. She makes the perfect job share for Mary Jones at our Cramlington branch. She has successfully completed all her training and enjoying her new role.


Katherine Wears

Receptionist

Katherine joined us January 2015. She was a client of ours for 25 years before joining the practice as a receptionist and administrator. She has acquired two new rabbits since working at Ayres called Ichabord and Marble. She also has two dogs called Reuben and Ginny who keep her fit on long country walks.


Kirstie West

Receptionist

Kirstie started working at Ayres Veterinary Hospital in July 2013. She loves working with animals, having a dog of her own; a Jack Russell Terrier called Koby. Kirstie enjoys helping clients and their pets, especially meeting new puppies. Out of work she enjoys a lot of physical activities such as going to the gym, attending workout classes, walks with her dog, and socialising with friends and family.


Joanne Whale

Receptionist

Joanne joined Ayres Vets as a receptionist in December 2009 and works part-time at our Whitley Bay branch.

Joanne grew up on a farm with cattle, sheep, goats, free range chickens, geese, ducks, dogs and cats, and has always enjoyed being around animals. She now lives in Whitley Bay with her husband, two children, some cold water fish and a liver and white Springer Spaniel named Heidi.
