At Ayres Veterinary Hospital we provide digital X-ray and ultrasonography to enable a more accurate diagnosis to be made.
The quality of our X-ray service is regularly checked by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and by our Radiation Protection Advisor. This ensures both quality and safety.
Animals are generally sedates or anesthetised for X-ray and frequently sedated for ultrasonic examination.
Ultrasound is particularly useful for cardiac examination where colour flow Doppler examination allows us to identify many subtle changes in blood flow. This feature can also be used to examine the abdominal organs.
Our staff receive regular training in both radiology and ultrasonography.
